WTB: Collings i35-LC/Gibson 335 or similar

Hello - long time lurker, first time poster!

I'm looking for either a Collings i35 LC, a Gibson 335, or simliar thinline archtop. I'm based in London and potentially can travel for the right guitar, I have cash waiting.

Do yourself a favour and look at the Tokai that PRUDD has just posted . I promise the Collings will be no better if you change the pick-ups to the Montys or Lollars that Collings use.

Thanks, but I'm going to hold for something higher end. I've nothing against Tokai, but I've been saving for a while for something a bit special

There's a Yamaha SA2200 for sale on here - or was - which is very highly rated but may not have a high end enough name.

If you go for a Collings - I’d highly recommend one with throbak pu’s.

Yeah agree, I just picked up a secondhand i35 vintage , the new model, and build quality is unreal

Nice! Which colour? Have you compared it to the standard i35? What sort of money are they going for secondhand?

Blonde. No I have not played the standard. Between £5-6k, retailing at 6700 but theres just none available so secondhand prices aren’t far off

Sure - got lucky with my i30 - I spoke to Doug at coda and he said the same sort of thing - not many about so grab em when and if you can
