I'm also getting hints of Velvet Underground here, particularly some of the slower tracks on Loaded

This is a good thing, btw

    Almost Was Good Enough now.

Have a break until 8.30pm after this track. Side two is more varied.

So, someone fill me in on the background to Songs: Ohia?

Who are they, is there a "best" album (or is this it)?

I'm enjoying the textures created by a relatively simple instrumental line up on this. It's a pretty cool to create an interesting set of variations on the same, simple, repeating chord pattern

This is probably the most accessible. There’s a fab documentary on YouTube about main man Json Molina making an album with Steve Albini. Sadly Molina lost his long-term battle with alcoholism a few years back.

    Side two at 8.30pm.

First two are guest vocals, so a bit of a change up, then you really have to crack it for JHSMH.

I often feel it is like Jason is being literally drowned beneath the music, resurfacing to gasp out one last line.

I was about 10 mins behind you all but I'm sync'd now. Got slightly waylaid.

It was very Neil Young what I heard on side 1 and I like Neil. Some good hooks.
