    Try another lead.

  • However, after the first distorted riff, the chorus wouldn't work - the LED lit but there was no signal at all from the pedal (fine bypassed).  SO...

Power issue still?  Unplugging it and replugging it in fixed it, and it's workin again (hence the second riff with chorus on).

If it was a mechanical true bypass I'd be suspicious of the footswitch and give it a clean but ...

I'm assuming the Hardwire has some kind of relay switch (Boss style)?

Tried all that while it wasn't working, no difference.  Also, straight into the amp - nothing before or after it, still nothing.  Definitely a pedal issue.

Looks to be a relay switch @steamabacus, like a boss pedal.  I'm not opening it up just yet, I want to be sure it's not a power issue - so I'm going to run it off a battery until the battery dies.  Then, as it's dying I should start seeing the same symptoms again - assuming it's a power issue?

  • Second hand, but from a top lad - definitely not an abused looking pedal.

    I'll give it a go.

  • Although the Hardwires are "true bypass" it is a electronic soft latching system.  I've had the reverb, phaser, chorus and OD.  I have noticed a couple of times when they are sat for a period (weeks to months) without getting used they can get a bit sticky and random in the footswitch.  I've also experienced the LED on but no effect.  Touch wood it's always passes once it's been worked a bit.

  • I've actually been trying to get it to cock up, but it's working great now.

¬_¬ Bloody thing! Not complaining though, it sounds great.  I set it to "quite cheesey 80's tone" for the recording ;)
