Shawshank for me. Perfect story, beautifully acted.

Closely followed by Young Frankenstein. Mel Brooks at his peek.

    Vanishing point - perfect end

Pulp Fiction  ... the end is only around 30 mins after we join the film at the beginning

I rewatch it every now and again too and drive my wife nuts with quotes from it that she doesn’t get (she’s not really a MB fan).

    “Werewolf!”
    “There wolf, there castle.”

    “You mean???”
    ”Yes! He was my…….BOYFRIEND!!”

    The Lives of Others.

Having a Statsi agent living in your attic listeneting in to your conversations who then intermingles with you on the street in real life without you knowing he knows things about you. Who it then turns out is helping you without you knowing it to avoid being caught by .... oh you need to watch the film. Lovely.

Night of the Hunter is some of the best cinema photography I have ever seen .
when they are going down the river at night and all the animals appear in the darkness.
also the mother ,drowned with her hair spread out in the water like Ophelia

so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

The tragi comedy dealing with serious issues but with a great feel good factor at the end.

    Terminator.

No seriously. The self contained time loop in that movie is perfect, better I think that BTTF where they had to show how the future had changed.
