    Robert Smith

Robert Smith is a really interesting choice!

I suppose I’ve never thought of him as a guitarist, if you see what I mean, but he definitely has his own voice on the instrument.
Read a guitar mag interview with him a while back where he was discussing the way he tunes different strings slightly off-pitch because adding chorus (as he does) makes them sound out-of-tune unless he compensates for this with his tuning. This is clearly not a guy who is bluffing his way through life by knowing a few cowboy chords and stringing a few simple songs together.

Zappa put him in his top 10, to which Deke commented "how do you think that made me feel?"

Both worthy of inclusion for me.
