Not sure what genre/s Fred Again.. is but since discovering him late this year I’ve been really impressed.  His Boiler Room show blew me away.

Not since my clubbing days. I never listened to it outside clubs/parties etc.

It's called *dance* music for a reason.

  • I don’t come here to talk about dance music, but if I did it certainly wouldn’t be about David bloody Guetta!

I pretty much exclusively listen to and write electronic music now.

That Fred Again set is superb

I'm currently listening to a lot of

    Bonobo
    Tor
    Com Truise
    Four Tet
    Ben Böhmer
    Luttrell
    Bicep

  • Yes.. as well as guitar based music, I've always listened to electronic stuff.. both happily co-exist for me.. from Orbital/Orb/Aphex Twin etc in the early 90's, then on to drum and bass (which I still listen to and love), then techno..... These days I like Detroit type electro, deep/progressive house (anjunadeep etc), ambient, and more drum and bass of the more chilled and liquid kind.

Agree with @allen that electronic/dance music can certainly convey so many emotions... cold and clinical it is not always, though it can be if you want... it can do the full spectrum

I listen to a lot Youtube DJ mixes .. of which there are so many. Here's a couple of my faves:

I should have added, I certainly don't dance to it, those days are long gone! For me it's head music... or something to put on when working or doing something, reading etc

What is Tropical House, by the way?

I prefer the downtempo stuff and instrumental.  So probably not eDm as much as EM.  I’m definitely not with it when it comes to keeping up with the latest and greatest.  But definitely not opposed to EDM.
