Came to me by way of a trade and is a very impressive guitar, it is the Premium version made in Indonesia, and beautifully made it was.

USA Duncan pickups that were developed for this model, all of the hardware is top notch and the Dyna-M1X9 switching is a very useful ingredient offering plenty of useable extra tones.

Plays faultlessly and sounds great, nice comfy handful of a neck, not the normal thin Ibanez neck. Comes with a generic decent hard case for delivery or a gig bag if preferred when its collected.

In super condition, very slight mark on the back of the neck, pictured, which I think will polish out.

Switching system explained here:

Blurb:

The AZ224F features a flamed maple top on an American basswood body bolted to a roasted maple neck with a roasted maple fingerboard with 22 stainless steel frets, black dot position markers and luminescent side dots. Components include a Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups mounted in a white pearloid pickguard with a  at the bridge and  in the neck and middle positions, a Gotoh T1502 two-point  bridge, a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut and Gotoh locking tuning machines with height-adjustable posts.

The AZ224F employs a dyna-MIX9 switching system  with an "Alter switch" toggle which allows the user to access nine distinct tones. The Alter switch allows the player to access two modes with the single coils connected in series creating a tone similar to a second humbucker.

To sum up an all round superb guitar and a hell of a lot of guitar for the money

Played this last night, it really is a very good guitar, I think its the Maple neck that doesn't suit me for some reason, anyway, you wont be disappointed with it.

Yes, a tough choice to make, a friend had one of the Classic players and it was a very fine guitar to be honest, I was really impressed with the fit and finish on it.

The Ibanez is a different beast, a very modern take on the original strat.

@paganskins is a great guy to deal with, and I would like to think I am too :)

I am sure you'd be happy with either guitar, the Fender will always be easier to sell on of course if that is a consideration for you.

    cheers

  • Have a bonus bump.
KrisGee, I had one on trial for a week, really good guitars with a sack full of variable tones but I need a chunky neck.

I thought the neck was on the way to being chunky, certainly not your normal Ibanez neck size.
