Well I’m just in taking me back - that’s a great tune.  Not sure on the production though - sounds like a fuzz factory or maybe one of his pedals. I do like a bit of fuzz.

Sounds like the drums have been compressed into oblivion

Not a new song but new to me in 2022.  Fell in love with it and played it tons.

…no, it comes up with my top listens on Spotify rather than yours.

As someone who rarely uses Spotify it’s quite interesting to find out that when I did my second most listened to track was Big Mistake by Peter Cetera, no idea why I ever listened to that? Number 1 and 3 both Rhoda Dakar which does seem more like me and is actual music made in the 21st century.

She was the singer in the Bodysnatchers and some of the vocals with The Specials AKA (some might remember The Boiler as one of the most disturbing singles ever made) back in the 80s and, I think, largely disappeared from music after but has made a come back in the last few years. Her version of Every Day is Like Sunday is for me, for what it’s worth, the defining lockdown song.

I don't do spotify, but I know who my two most played artists are as I listen to them a lot at work - Brian Culbertson, and the Rippingtons. Both come under smooth jazz, which for me is the perfect genre to listen to whilst working.

  • My top two artists were The Smile and Trip The Witch. This year I spent a lot more hours on podcasts tbh.

  • I use Tidal nowadays. My top listens largely consist of Vampire Weekend as I got into them this year, not having really listened to them much before. Lee Morgan’s Sidewinder is there, Slow Motion Replay by The The which I rediscovered, some Waxahatchee and Go West by The Cult which surprised me. A blast from my late-teenage past!

  • My top 10 is quite bizarre  as I don’t listen to Spotify much , so it’s a mixture of stuff I would normally listen to like winger ,extreme ,Van Halen  with stuff that used to be on the radio when I was a teen . ( I like to think if I can create the exact ambience of the period & listen to it  in a quiet moment I might time travel back to that time , rather like that film with Christopher reeve & Jane Seymour )
