Maybe you shouldn't stick it in your pocket and then sit on it.  Would you sit on a new guitar and then taking it back complaining because it was broken?

No, but I'd be very annoyed if I bought a Gibson, and when it arrived the headstock was broken because the design can't always cope with an impact to the case... you'd say that's what the case was for, wouldn't you?

Phones are for putting in pockets.

That's just rubbish though. 

If you have to use a case on a phone then it's not properly designed. 

My HTC one has lived in my pockets with my keys and without a case and been dropped about 10 times over the last 18 months and it still looks like new.

b) wouldn't prefer an extra millimetre thickness and 6 more hours of battery life?

might be classed as under specced on paper compared to premium Android but in the real world not so...

I don't mind any of the systems I have had and been quite happy with Android, but what keeps me coming back to iOS are the music apps, Garageband, Korg Kaossilator, TNR-i all superb and used on a daily basis, I can plug in instruments and record, multitrack, mix and publish.. this is something Android just cannot achieve at this point.

I know! I partially understand the drive for form-factor, but as you say, surely a 2 day battery life would be worth a few mm to most people.

And the camera wouldn't stick out... I can see it getting annoying bouncing around when it's on a table as it doesn't sit flat.

The silly little problems might be enough for me to actually either wait, or get a cheap 5S.

What I meant was......  Surely if you are spending so much on a telephone I thought you might consider that sitting on it might not do it any good.  I don't sit on my iPad, use it as a tray for hot drinks, use it as a cutting board etc.... Because it cost a pile of cash and I don't want to break it.

It's the Yuri Geller Signature Model.

Simple mechanics - make it from aluminium instead of steel, then make it thinner but longer... of course it's easier to bend.

Was this at the University of Edinburgh by any chance (looking at your location)? I used to work with a few people who were involved with OLED displays in the past.
