Fish: Not the greatest pipes, but filled with emotion. David Phelps: unbelievable range, power and control. Worth a look on Youtube, but comes with a mental health warning as he pretty much only does Christian stuff.

@chuffola Mark Hollis- great, great shout... I was playing cricket at Welwyn Garden City and one of the oppo who I know well, said there's someone I wanna intro you to.... Walked me over to this unremarkable guy with huge ears and scruffy clothing- Mark meet James, James meet Mark....I was speechless....he's been a recluse for yrs and spends a lot of Saturdays watching and supporting WG cricket club.

I sort of admire the fact that he considers that he had 'said all he wants to say' in music - Paul Buchanan/The Blue Nile have also eschewed flooding the market - yet I wonder if he could be persuaded otherwise?

The Colour of Spring, The Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are among my favourite albums of all time.

I'd love at least one more....

try and get the live Talk Talk vid in Montreaux 1986. It's absolutely brilliant and Hollis is incredible in his performance and intensity. And the live versions of the songs are great
