New Puppy Day **MORE** Pics

A couple of months ago we had to talk one of our dogs to the vets.  It was a one-way trip.

That was a shit day.  

Week.  

Actually, it's still fairly shit.

But yesterday Mrs TT spent 9 hours driving to collect the latest addition to our pack ...

She didn't take too long to settle in ... playing with one of the boys (who's being really careful with her) ...

7 weeks old.  She's pure border collie with generations of sheep dog pedigree behind her.  Now, we just need to get some sheeps.

I'm not exactly sure what it is - maybe the look on her face in the first photo, or her posture in the second - but she definitely looks like a feisty little bugger. Seems to me that you've got some fun times ahead...

We only saw her with her litter mates and mother twice (they're in Cheshire), but MrsTT has been exchanging plenty of FB messages with people who've seen them plenty more times since their birth.  They all describe her as being pretty independent - happy to wander off on her own - and never one to start any trouble with the litter mates, but she'd generally finish it.

They've been bred to deal with sheep for generations, so they have to be pretty strong.  She'll need plenty of activity, and not just a walk around the block twice a day, otherwise ....

A tip I picked up from a husky owner...hang a string with bells on it from the back door. Every time you let her out for a toilet break, jiggle the string to ring the bell. After a while (probably a short while with a collie), she'll get the hang of it and ring the bell to let you know she needs to pee.

Collies are the most intelligent dogs of all breeds, just in front of Alsations and Poodles. They easily pick up the bell trick.

So far, she's told us when she's needed "to go outside".  Even through the night.
