I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

I've only just seen this thread with these suggestions of Marmite, peanut butter and eggs.

    You dirty dirty bastards.

Butter, just butter, that's all that's needed.

Now go wash your hands and think carefully about your life choices.

    Salted butter
Anything else is just wrong, imho..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Dairylea spread or marmite. The crumpets have to be really roasted too so they're crispy.

Butter and jam. I favour raspberry, but whatever floats your boat.

    Cheese & Marmite!
    That would be epically foul.
I light smear of marmite, then cheese piled on and grilled.... then add beans.   Chefs kiss!

Surely no one is eating crumpets cold and untoasted? Heathens!

The problem is the crumpet, rubbery crap.  Start with a toasted muffin add poached egg and maybe pancetta and hollandaise sauce.

Is your muffin buttered? Would you like us to assign someone to butter your muffin?

English muffins however  require a slice of cheddar,  tomato (if you can afford it !!)  sprinkled with salt, black pepper and a little cayenne

I finally found good Gluten Free crumpets a year or 2 ago:
    Warburtons
They are lovely, bought another pack last night

Get the top properly toasted, then spread butter on in massive quantities

Honey is good, but it has to be the really thick stuff, not runny gloopy honey. I also like peanut butter or decent chunky marmalade on mine.

You can all fuck off with your Marmite suggestions. It’s disgusting stuff, scraped from the skid marks on Satan’s underpants.

Marmite - you either love it or you should be gaoled for a minimum of 37 years.

    crumpets need

    1. toaster turned all the way up
    2. cooked twice

then you get crispy brown goodness on the outside while maintaining soft inside

    Good quality butter.
Margarine if you want to ruin the experience.

I thought I was slightly odd for enjoying a honey crumpet every now and then as an alternative to lurpak (or your butter of choice). However having seen what the rest of you weirdos put on your crumpets I feel very vanilla and not so ashamed of my perceived degeneration.
