So.. guitar leads: Are you a Strap Wrapper or a Dangler?

What's your normal cabling procedure, do you let it just dangle from the guitar or do you route it between your strap and guitar body to prevent it being pulled out?
I'm the latter  :)

Through the strap as well on electric. Not always on acoustic for some reason.

Between the strap and the guitar. Just helps a little in keeping the cable out of the way.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Anyone who has had a lead pull out during a gig knows the benefits of trapping it between the strap and the body. To make it even tidier I use a right angled Jack plug.

Don’t get me started on the damage a snagged lead can do to a hollow body.

All my electrics have the socket on the edge, so I'm a right angled wrapper.

Strap wrapper, always and only - if possible with a right-angle plug, but a straight one is OK especially with a Strat. I never even play at home without doing it if the guitar is on the strap - as it usually is.

As a repairer I've seen the damage a pulled lead can do too many times - even to a Strat, if the pull isn't directly downwards. At best, the lead comes straight out and leaves you with an unprofessional buzz and no guitar sound.

I really can't understand anyone with a clue not doing it. I also prefer to use the amp handle - top or side - to loop it through at the amp end as well, for the same reason, even if it's coming from a pedalboard.

Yep wrapped and with a right angle jack. On an SG I can't imagine there's much support for the jack socket, it'd be easy to completely fuck up the front of the guitar.

And me - it seems to help stop the leads taking all the "bendy cable" strain at the plug ends, too.

When I was at school there was a rash of bands forming who would occasionally be allowed to play in assembly. I watched one bassist with a borrowed Precision bass copy manage to wedge his lead under an amp cabinet just before a none-more-rock scissor kick, resulting in the jack socket being yanked completely out of the bass, much to the owner's annoyance. I've been a dedicated strap wrapper ever since.

Also, would like to point out that this story makes my school sound *way* more rock and roll than it was.
