    just dont..... you can still get the leaded stuff and its SOOOOOOOO much better.
    This. You need a hotter soldering iron to get anywhere with lead-free.

    If you have a good soldering iron (i.e., one with temperature control) it's easy enough to set it to the required temperature for lead-free. I don't mind using lead-free solder, as long as it's the high silver content stuff.
