Saying Antony, but somehow putting some extra Fs in there to make 'Antff feny'.

They also somehow manage to turn "Craig" into "Creg".

    And Graham into GRAM. Grr.

Cider. In the US that's a drink for children.

"Soddering"… that really gets on my nerves.

Although it's their word for soldering (rather than buggery) it does make me want to shove something hot and pointy……...

To be fair the same thing could be said for some parts of this country.

They are indeed funny people (my daughter in law is American)

What is often confusing is the way they shorthand dates to month/date/year whereas we always use date/month year.

Yes the date thing is silly and the few US fora I am on they say happy birthday to me on 9/11 (rather unfortunate) instead of November the 9th.

Cot instead of bed, least worst option, deplane, detrain, bangs (fringes) and period which has gotten me into trouble with US friends.

  • I hate the way they call crisps "chips" even thought they were invented in America by an American who decided they should be called "chips" and it was us who got it wrong when they came over here. What a bunch of bastards!
