The worrying thing about this is that he's set the new site to automatically send email updates, and to turn them off you have to sign up to the forum. I'm not sure that's legal. It's certainly going to annoy people.

After another e-mail, and being unable to stop them without joining again, I joined, turned off all the notification, and posted this. How long the post is deleted?

Can my account be deleted please?

 

I'd not used the old forum for 5 years or so, I then receive 3 e-mails within 24 hours, and have to join this forum and get a new password to stop them coming.

 

Totally spammy and invasive.

 

Oh, and I'd have happily done this privately by e-mail, but they came from a no reply address, and I can't find one on this site easily.

I think I've dealt with mine.

It comes through an old hotmail account which is linked to my main email. I have instructed hotmail to block all future emails from them.

For every unwanted email, sign him up for a paper catalogue from somewhere. Eventually he'll get a metric ton of shit physical spam delivered to his house every week.

Or mark each email as a phishing scam or spam in your email client. With over ten thousand users he'll get himself in trouble for this soon enough.

So me and Andi are DRAMA QUEENS and ARSEHOLES.

He's only trying to help everyone he meets though, by spamming their inbox with clips of a £2,000 strat.

Apologies for complaining, I should have just sat and read it all, as he's a bit tired.

It's not his fault - it's the servers.

I guess the servers must have taken control of the internet and abolished unsubscribe buttons.

OK, Ive changed my mind.  Ive had 8 bloody emails today.  The third one apologised for the emails and said that all settings had been set not to send anything.  I even logged in and changed my setting to " don't send any notifications by email"  (or something similar), but still they come.

Ive only browsed the site and forums occasionally, and its all seems fairly innocuous, so I don't get the ill feeling from some on here, but I have to say all these emails are becoming a tad tedious.

I ve recently tried to contact him about possibly buying a guitar. He sent me an email to which I replied with a few questions as I was torn between two guitars, got no reply. Sent it again still no reply. Tried a third time, nothing. Yet since this new forum has opened I ve had ten emails at least..
