It also makes it easier to work out who has "mistakenly" packed away one of your cables in their bag.

Plain old black cables for me, I don't think I've ever owned a cable in another colour! If I was gigging regularly again though I'd consider getting a different colour to avoid someone else nicking it like previously said. Or I'd stick to wireless lol.

It's nothing to do with colour. Any fool knows that volts flow uphill more effectively, which is why shortarse guitarists with Marshall stacks sound better. Malcolm Young knew this.

Angus did away with the cable in favour of a "volt cannon" which he aimed at the amplifier. It was kept in his rucksack.

In seriousness, I never bother with anything other than black cable. For a while I did use the REAN jacks with different coloured plastic grips on the barrel, that made the four-cable wiring a bit easier.

    This.

I have orange and pink braided cables.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

I have coloured cables for when I'm using a 4CM setup, with corresponding coloured dots on amp/POD. Just makes setup quicker when you can see which cable's going where!
    Ooh, that’s a good idea.

This is the reason I got a bunch of purple ones years back
    Red ones are better.

I use a white coil cable out of my guitar to the helix, because I found that if I step on it I can feel it immediately, and it still has some give if it gets tugged while stood on. It also looks good!

From the helix to the cab I use an orange glow in the dark one, I think it’s Fender. It’s less flexible but I can see where it goes easily and it doesn’t get tripped on.

My cables are (Designacable) vintage-y tweed covered.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

I use Fender tweed cables, because I am chasing that vintage tone, which they do , they make my guitar sound way better and vintage sounding and as a result I am a much better guitarist because of it.

Black cables ftw, and that includes mains cables - in fact especially mains cables. Nothing looks more shit on a moody dark stage than a white mains extension lead, especially one that’s all kinked from being wound up too tightly.

I do mark all my cables with a small label at one end giving the length to the nearest 0.1m. Scoff away but it works.

I've been using Van Damme XKE with gold Neutrik's for years and never had an issue.
