It would help if it was referred to by it's correct name, they're crisp butties, not sandwiches.

So I saw a fellow FB member today eating a crisp sandwich - Not had one for ages - So
This some kind of basic surveillance you do on all of us?

The next thread isn't going to be "Saw Ed today watching Dua Lipa videos with a pot noodle and a box of tissues... what's your favourite pot noodle flavour?"
You are the dreamer, and the dream...

    Crisp sandwiches are for children.
Partly because their bodies can withstand onslaughts of junk food!   ;)

I always assumed a butty was a slice of bread folded over a filling, a sarnie was two rounds of bread with the filling in-between?

Enjoy, but I'll pass thanks  ;)

I've been known to use crisps to add a bit of interest to a cheese sandwich. However a crisp roll is really where it's at and was a favourite when I was at school.

Has to be a Glasgow roll - Mortons or McGhees - decent crustyness and ample volume. Remove some dough to make a pocket for crisps (definitely don't slice or tear the roll open). Flavour of crisps is own choice - I seem to remember I was partial to Golden Wonder Pickled Onion or Smoky Bacon back then. Optionally crush the crisps a bit before opening the bag, then stuff as many crisps in to the hole in the roll as will fit. Glasgow rolls are tardis like once you start filling them. Enjoy with a bottle of full fat Irn Bru.

Reminds me of a story about Mark E Smith, a journalist went round to his house after an afternoon in the pub, Mark asks if he wants some food, MES disappears into the kitchen for 45 minutes, the journo hears cupboard doors opening and closing, pots and pans clinking. After which Smith comes out with a crisp butty and says, "Eeyar get that down you son"

White bread, cheese and pretty much any crisps.

Except smoky bacon, which are, clearly, an abomination.

I thought the difference between butties, sarnies, sandwich, rolls, baps etc was all to of with which part of the country you live in
