This morning i did my usual bimble around Wants 2nd hand shop (opposite Newmarket pub in town-it's the first shop from my bus stop). I was looking at a literally mint 2007 (neck pick up blue sticker still on) Baja tele (£600)...Hmmm. Just above it 2 mint; i mean mint 2007 Highway one strats- same MO: all hang tags. stickers etc literally brand new (£699). "Who buys a guitar in 2007 and sells it (to a 2nd hand shop at presumably the lowest possible price) 17 years later having clearly done nothing with it?" I asked the guy behind the counter. "Have a look at this" he says. Opens a tweed case with an absolutely mint CS 2007 (not sure the significance of that year-were a load of Fenders nicked back then?) Fiesta Red 60's strat. (2k). There are at least 2 other NOS CS strats in there for (i think) £1800. Apparently there is an individual known to them who "has a barn full of guitars" who comes in from time to time with these gems.
Unfortunately I'm moving house (and country) so couldn't entertain. I have absolutely no connection whatever with the store or people therein. Although i did buy an acoustic off them a few years ago. They seem v honest and decent and have always had a few interesting things in there.
But...Got me thinking ..2007?? Anyone have an idea about this or is it just a viz like eccentric millionaire with GAS??
God bless this kitchen said the knick knack chef

That’s a heck of an impressive range of second hand Fenders, with humane pricing too.
I'm definitely out
As someone who has recently been through a protracted issue with the Police relating to a low price guitar that subsequently turned out to be stolen, if it appears too good to be true, it probably is.

That said, I bet some Fretboarders haven't posted tonight because they are driving there.
