I’m addicted to Return of the Living Dead

What's Hot
Tremendous film. So, so good. A ‘comfort food’ of films, for me.

Anybody else with this or other films?

My go to film is a few good men. If I come across it on the movie channels I. Tend to watch to the end no matter how far through it is when I start.

Similarly comforting or just love it?

Return of the Living Dead is great, but I'm certainly not addicted to it!

I don't like watching any films over and over, I'd rather see something I haven't seen before.  Of course there are films I've seen multiple times, but it's better if there's some time between viewings so I don't remember everything.  I know people who can virtually recite the scripts of their favourite films**, but that's definitely not me.

(** ...and actually A Few Good Men is one of those films where people love to repeat one particular line..!)

@Philly_Q I do watch a lot of new stuff but sometimes when indecisive…RotLD comes out again!

I guess my rainy afternoon, goto comfort film would be Snow White and the Seven Perverts. It's got something for the whole family.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

It makes the pain go away.

I first watched it when I was 10.

Clearly a bit early as it created a life long irrational love of zombie movies, hence my profile name.

I also have the full film of Dawn of the Dead downloaded in my iPhotos and listen to it to go to sleep like some sort of weird comfort blanket.

A lot of the time I'll watch something new and wish I'd watched some old favourite... but I persist.

Great film! Written and directed by Dan O'Bannon who also wrote the equally bonkers Life Force not to mention Alien and Aliens. He also co-wrote and starred as Pinback in John Carpenter's brilliantly weird Dark Star.

Personally I'd say the Evil Dead films have a slight edge over RotLD because I really like Bruce Campbell.

    @musteatbrain You know it!

I was similarly young. I prefer Day to Dawn but absolute classics. Have you seen Blood Quantum? Superb.

    Goodfellas for me.

In the horror genre Evil Dead II always goes down well.

I suppose my nearest equivalents would be The Wicker Man and Suspiria, but I still like to leave some time between viewings.

If you love zombie stuff you gotta read World War Z. The film is pretty crap but the book is just amazing. One of the best I've ever read.
