I had a stove top espresso maker and it was good, but there's still a lot of faff for a small amount of coffee.

I want a filter machine so I can turn it on and just pour a cup any time without having to wait.

Delonghi bean to cup machines. Surprisingly well designed (and I'm an ex design engineer).
You'd think at the price they'd be crap but mine's been hammered for that last 2 years and it shows no sign of any problems so far. 1 button press, wait 30 secs, good fresh coffee.
Mine is this one.
