I bought a used Dobro they had on consignment there last month.
Great to deal with but the guitar did arrive very grubby. I know it’s secondhand but how hard is it to give it a polish before shipping?

They’re pretty great, I’ve bought a few bits directly and did a part-ex deal last year which felt fairly-valued.

You can negotiate , but I find their prices a touch on the high side to start.

Yeah but did you get a free set of strings as well?

I've sold a couple of guitars through them and they told me that they calculate the sale price expecting to be offered less.
I think they worked on the typical offer being 10% less but I can't be absolutely sure about that as it was a while back.
My guitars both sold for less than the price advertised (or so I was told) but I was happy enough with what I got in the end as they are taking the responsibility of sorting the sale, shipping, possible returns etc.

I purchased something from them that was secondhand, I got 15% off but it was on consignment so they had to run any negotiations by the owner. May have been a touch high on the asking price in the first place.

They were decent to deal with though.

I’ve bought parts from them, by post; no issues.

They gave me a bit of wiggle too, and then refunded extra when the guitar arrived with an issue. Wouldn’t  count on the setup being perfect; I don’t get the impression the do much / anything to their second hand stock, but they did seem willing to resolve any issues.

Sold an Ibanez and a Lakewood with them a couple of years ago. Asked me about automatically accepting something within 10% of the asking price. Easy to deal with and kept me update via email throughout and sorted all the shipping as you’d expect. If the price works for you then no reason not to from my experience.

Last few orders, the guitars arrived damaged, dirty and not well set up.

    Used to be great.

I bought a guitar from their shop, really good experience in person.

I also bought a guitar online, it was shipped with a schaller strap lock still attached (the strap part clipped on top of the button). The guitar also hadn’t been packed inside the case at all. During shipping the guitar must have been dropped at some point causing the strap lock to became embedded in the guitar body… that had to go back.

My lesson was, I’m only buying in person in future.

Customer service did drop when Andy Wright left.  He was a top lad.

Bought from them twice. Both times got a trade in value far in excess of the sale price I'd advertised on TFB. Very easy to deal with and luckily both purchases arrived superbly packed and in pristine condition. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.
My other passion is firearms! Does that make me a closet Redneck???
