Found a bag of drugs

Working Saturday night on near Walthamstow on a railway job I found a bag of drugs!!

Looked like £10 wraps of heroin and the same of crack, maybe a couple of grams of each in a plastic bag, must have been thrown out of the window of the train before pulling into the station.

Now years ago I would have though "bring it on" and gone home to oblivion but I had no interest whatsoever in them, one of the site bods however was very interested and as far as I know claimed the bag.

Now thinking about it should I have taken it to the police and handed it in? buried it? flushed it? or just left it where it lay (as I did)?

A woman I work with picked up a large bag of coke in the car park of a casino in Salford a while ago, she was stood there looking at it when a blacked out Range Rover came screaming into the car park and a rather large chap took it off her. He'd obviously dropped it on his way out earlier. Somebody would have got in deep shit had that gone missing.

taking it to the police would have been too much hassle and you might have got involved in something...best thing to destroy that shit...does nothing but ruin lives of so many people....on the other hand you never know who's watching...so you did the best thing.

I caught a staff member in one of my stores selling weed a few weeks ago. He'd stuffed a large bag of it into the toilets suspended ceiling to 'hide' it, the only tiny error in his master plan was that when I went for a piss the toilets stank of it.

I put it back and went to visit another store then came back at closing time to search everyone. He left with the police and 4 others who had bought some off him that night were warned by the cops and had their bags confiscated.

I don't care what anyone gets up to at home but I can't let that happen in a store I'm responsible for.

it's an offence to allow drugs to be used on your premises. There were cases of drug workers being prosecuted for this for not reporting service users smoking/ shooting up in their buildings. So, you were potentially in trouble if you hadn't reported it.

I once found a substantial (10k) amount of drugs after chasing someone who was trying to escape the police. I decided to hand it in, a year later finger prints on the bag led to the guy being caught and sent down for 18 months. Had he not changed his plea on the day I would have had to testify against him which could have got nasty as he was a local on the nearby dodgy estate.

If you'd taken it, it could have been the end of your railway job.  I've heard stories about rail folk getting tested and binned for drugs, and alcohol.

Drug and alcohol testing is commonplace in road and rail jobs, smoking weed is the one, stays in your blood for up to a month whereas coke is out in a couple of days, had a great chat with the doctor who did my initial d&a as I was taking Diazepam for a bad back.
