Once I'd posted I started to wonder myself actually. It was a Highlight of the Day in the Guardian TV listings, which suggests to me that it is new.

Nice spot...got it set up to record too. Seem to be a couple of programmes on Pink Floyd around that too, and one on greatest riffs. Good night for tv for a change!

Not allowed out, but i'd probably forget to watch it as I will be well into the wine by the time it comes on.

Seriously I actually like guardian as a newspaper (at least in a "best of a bad lot" kind of way), but its arts coverage (including the TV) is terrible. That curmudgeon wollaston would put me off tv. Or just life in general.

That was one of those programmes that I savoured every minute of it. I suppose electric guitars and amplifiers have been an important part of my life in some way. Interesting to see all those connections from the 60s onwards - seemed like a small world. I knew the story about copying the Fender Bassman, but it was quite surprising to learn exactly how much they were winging it back then. Whatever happened to Dudley Craven?
