Doesn't really tell us much about the film...then again, they didn't need to. Everybody will watch it anyway.

I watched Star Wars again last weekend, for the first time in ages (the original cinema release). 

Fell in love with the film all over again (although I never really fell out of love with it really).

We'll stick Empire on this weekend..... :-)

I hope they can make a better stab at it than Lucas, who seemed to go out of his way to ruin the original trilogy by 'upgrading' it. Then add insult to injury by shitting on it all from a great height with the prequels.

Not sure I'm happy with Mr Lensflare doing it either... Not keen on what he did with Star Trek (utterly nonsensical plots, those fucking annoying lens flares and some really lame takes on loved characters). Hopefully Lindelhoff isn't involved, how that man has a writing job in film/tv baffles me.

So no, my expectations are not particularly high.

It tells us that stylistically they are very much going for the look and feel of the original films - but with better effects.   Still over a year to go so I am sure we will know a lot more before its out

It looks far more like the proper ones than the prequels, which is a start. Having followed it quite intently it looks as if they are at least trying to make it brilliant, and not just make more shit.

I'm keeping an open mind but it's hard not to be excited cos it'll be brilliant if they get it right.

Really, it was the X-Wing and lightsaber bits that did it for me. The cute droid thing is a little worrying, but I'm willing to forgive a little bit of that kind of thing if it has enough of the darker feel that it has the potential for.
