  • I think mine is a Diago showman

Solid so far but stupidly heavy
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I've got a couple of salvage custom boards (a small fold out flat board and a fold out angled wood board). The finish and detail on them is incredible. I use a riser on the flat board to store the power supply under. It's light weight and functions perfectly for my needs.

If I was gigging again I'd be less keen on using it. Not because it couldn't handle it but more because I know I'm not the most careful when it comes to slinging gear in the back of a van late at night!

I've also got some old diago boards knocking around. The main issue I've had with those is the hinges constantly needed reattaching and they were pretty heavy even empty.

I am tempted to snag a flat board from Dan if I see one appear in his shop, as opposed to waiting, with a raiser and build a mini board with the spare pedals ! :p
