@Alnico - thanks - I have my own monster truck, but I live about an hour from Bedford ...... I have a cousin who lives near Bury St Edmunds - I know how long it takes ... 2+ hrs each way.

Current thought would be the Cedars near Stowe if they aren't booked up. 

@digitalscream would be cool to potentially get some other bands playing. I've had another offer of support from a mate of our drummer as well. Maybe we need a forum festival

I like the idea and yes it's very local. But I am committed to panto rehearsals about then so may not have the time/energy. If that all falls through, I have a similar type new band that could do a set whist you fiddled with tuned your system. I'd have to check their availablity first though. We did a similar thing in October by hiring a village hall for the day and blowing through things, it was a worthwhile exercise for us as we know what our gear is capable of and therefore when we need to hire in professionals.

Looks like we are on and it will be one of the first couple of weeks of Feb. 

I'll ring round some venues tomorrow.

Probably the same as for venues in other counties ... Know what your target clientele want and make sure that they get it!

I like it. My band could play but i know my drummer would be board shitless with all the effect box fappery so i'll come on my own or pick someone up. I live near cambridge so it canny be that far.
