There's a forum I used to be on that assigned you an avatar based on posts/level you were, there were only about 10 so one thread could have posts by 10 different people but only 3 different avatars, bloody annoying

I'm bored with mine but the last time I changed it, lots of people complained they missed the little gladiator. I think most people's avatars are too complex to work at the size they're used at. What looks nice at 640x640 often just looks like an indecipherable random pattern when shrunk down to avatar size. I often find myself thinking "WTF is that?".
