I'm beyond gutted - why didn't I juat get it at the time. I facebooked the owner last night who said he was going back into the shop last night to do some stock taking, he was going to put reserved on it.

Evidently it had already sold yesterday. He's trying to track the buyer down and offer them a better deal on something else

This christmas panto ain't over yet

Some bloke I don't know posts a story on a forum about his first guitar
Then he says he's found it for sale in a local shop
Then he procrastinates over the purchase while the whole forum is shouting BUY IT
Then he tells us it's gone, noooooooo!

I can't take any more …….… I'm truly gutted!

Hope the shop finds the buyer and it all works out mate

Ouch...the words salt rub and wound immediately come to mind. But if it makes you feel better @Travisthedog, I used to be indecisive too...but nowadays I'm not so sure.

I saw it didn't buy it - posted on here - contacted shop owner and supposedly secured it all within 24 hours!!

Call me a synic but wonder if the shop owner will manage to "find the guy that bought it" only for said guy to be in love with it and only be willing to sell for £200

The fact that you didnt snap it up straightaway perhaps suggests it really wasn't that important to you. Don't let your mind turn it into a big deal now that it might have gone.

To be fair, he did ask for our advice and opinions, got them, decided to go ahead with the purchase, and against all odds someone beat him to it.  Not only that, it's alright for us to say shell out £140 (at what can be an expensive time of year) when it's not ours. Nevertheless, it's a shame the way this tale has ended. If another opportunity to buy the guitar presents itself due to a tracked down, and hopefully compassionate owner, then blow me sideways.
