Generally keeping out of ME affairs would be a sensible thing to do, and conduct all foreign policy on a principle on non aggression ( ie only when attacked or an ally is attacked).

Liberalism is utterly alien to most non European cultures ( Chinese is an exception with Tao) and while Europe benefits enormously from its liberal heritage, which has played a profound part in societal evolution and made it a nice place to live in, it's governors need to understand that it is not something to be imposed when their is no foundation for it.

2000 killed by Islamists in Nigeria and there is barely a mention.
