Excuse quality of this- the playing is stunning. As are the vox. Quite simply my fave Lindsey Buckingham performance ever.

    Love him.

Another Nail For My Heart is probably the best solo ever recorded for a pop song.

How about Sacha Distel the old Fench crooner, watch him go at about 3 mins in. As for Sammy Hagar, saw him at Southampton Gaumont 1981, hell of a show, that guy can play.
That the other guitarist did not STFU didn't help - made it sound like Sacha was dropping clams all over the place, ignorant twat.  He is pretty well known as a jazz guitarist.
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

I'm looking forward to the Sacha Distel one when I get time too, I love the ones that really take you by surprise.

I remember BB King on some documentary explaining that he 'couldn't play like this...' and played a series of flash jazz chords. Ahh, memories...

Prince has done some superb live stuff with a tele, I could never understand why he didn't just chuck out an amazing lead guitar rock album at some point.

  • There was talk at one time of Prince portraying Hendrix in a film, not sure what happened to that. Absolutely wonderful musician though.

That was kind of the setup with his most recent tour - much more guitar-orientated. Alas, didn't get to catch a show.

Well when you learn a little more about rugby and check a player out without your preconceptions, you will agree more. ;)

    Craig McLachlan 'Destroyer':

Craig McLachlan of Neighbours fame (played Kylies brother). I saw him do a cover of Hot for Teacher on TV in the late 80s. A quick YouTube search revealed this.

No, but Gavin Henson does a mean "Sultans of Swing" on guitar.

    Or not.

  • Talking of XTC, there's a video of an interview with Andy Partridge (fairly recent) where he suddenly flies into a load of Hendrixy blues on a Squier Tele. Impressive stuff...
