My real life experience to date is 3 x 60's Gibson's, all of which I had professionally re-fretted. I sold them all (after about 12-24 months ownership) for a bit more than I paid for them, including the re-fret cost. They were all good nick "players grade" and the re-fret definitely helped when selling them.
