I want someone to get an EHX super pulsar so they can tell me about it.

That someone might have been me but I wanted Tap tempo for live use :)
I thought it had tap tempo?

I could be wrong but it was apparent when I glanced at it

I bought a Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter not long ago but I'm thinking of getting a Fender Excelsior amp (which has tremolo built in) instead - could be persuaded to part with it? Not a MASSIVE pedal, but it's the older grey one not the more recent, smaller purple one...

the new pulsar looks interest especially with the stereo phase being adjustable with exp pedal, but also looks big and wide

i'm looking forward to see the new stereo shape shifter, as long as its analog trem

I've got the pulsar and I'm not sure it's shite. It is however really difficult to get a nice vintage sounding tremolo sound with it, however it's really easy to get some ring mod / synth style sounds with it especially with a fuzz in front and it set to an offset square wave setting. It's certainly not for everyone.

@IanSavage The tremolo on the excelsior is lovely, really warm and very usable.

I had an old pulsar and while it couldn't do classic sounds it could make you seasick quite powerfully if that's your thing.

Ok I was being a bit ungracious with the pulsar - it had some ok sounds but mine was very, very noisy and very hard to dial in

To be honest I find all of them quite samey really. Some have a few more tricks than others that's all. End of the day it's a tremolo. All I care about is if it's not going to break the bank and can be sold quite easily if I don't like it for some reason ;)

Such a practical lad I am. Wish I werent so sometimes ;)

I know- they look great. Just a bit on the big side.

I'm sure I'll give it a go when I'm next in a guitar shop, but I can't see it replacing my Boss PN-2, which is, for me, the best sounding trem pedal. Despite having a fairly limited rate setting.

Still loving my Jack Rabbit but I see that Seymour Duncan have re-housed the Shape Shifter.......a bit spendy though. I remember liking the original Shape Shifter when I tried it a few years ago but unfortunately, it was so big it came with it's own postcode...Can't see me getting rid of the Jack Rabbit though.

That super seek trem looks like it could either be a game-changer or a timewaster. I got the impression from the video that there were cool sounds to be had but they were going to be particularly difficult to find.

That is my beef with such pedals. Even the Stereo Pulsar which only has 3 knobs is incredibly difficult to set up for good sounds! I like versatility but not at the expense of practicality!
