    The insistence on PPG or bank transfer may be one reason.  I don't need another Les Paul but it I did that would be a deal breaker for me.

    ^^ I sympathise with the OP - I wouldn't accept regular PayPal for a transaction of that value (or any significant value). You won't trust the seller but you're asking the seller to trust you.

    I doubt it's the fees that are the concern, but the chance of a scammer clawing back the funds.

    Very much so. Unless it is someone with great feedback on here then I'd accept regular PayPal.

    However, it's also on eBay so you could get it with regular PayPal on there with both of us covered. Alas, no interest on there either! Might just keep it!
