And look at 'em! Proud as fuck. There is no criticising these people, because it all deflects.
This is so true.  It's puzzles me that being an ignoramus right-winger who basis shit on a very select viewpoint rather than collated evidence rightly carries a stigma but being and equally ignoramus left-winger who basis shit on a very select viewpoint rather than collated evidence is some how a badge honour and intellectualism.

Certainly there is a tendency for that to be true.

Go to Facebook... look at all your Liberati friends, and see how many times in a year they slag off the Daily Mail, and how they love to rabble rouse.

Then look at how many of them do the same with the Guardian.

Oh right. So if anyone is a complete waste of money on this site then, you're first of the draw. Then you use your wife to commit tax fraud. Oh goody.

(I actually wouldn't be surprised if that last one were true! ho hum!)

Nah I've been deliberately keeping my head down. No politics. No gender discussions. No getting riled (despite what you think, this thread was a tongue in cheek poke), and no getting het up over crap I have no control over anyway.

I've been really quite productive the last few months, musically speaking. Drank a lot of booze too!

If somebody actually has the moral high ground....Isn't it likely that they will mention it?

Don't want Champagne Politicians in the Labour Party?
Dont want the Politics of Envy in the Labour Party?
    What does that leave?

How about the good old days when the Labour Party looked after the needs of the average man in the street. Harold Wilson refused to get involved in the Vietnam war and was proved right. Blair couldn't wait to get involved in foreign wars and then line his pockets to the tune of £100 million and ensure they'll be no peace in the Middle East in our lifetime. We also left with a Labour Part that's run by an alien with no experience of life who is backed by a metropolitan elite who are basically pink Tories - Oxbridge millionaires. All they care about is getting back into power, to line their own pockets, and are happy to do a deal with the Devil (it's not long since they were demonising her), in the form of Nicola Sturgeon, to do it.

And sadly they will be the party that gets into power.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

I accept that for many....they perceive the 2 main parties as too close in policy. ( But not me).

If Labour are pink tories then they are pink tories who will not be giving Wayne Rooney a tax cut of £12,000 a week. If they are pink Tories then they are pink tories who will not be fining disabled people for the tiny box room that is used to store their wheelchair.
I will be voting for the pink tories.

But they did give Wayne Rooney a tax cut .. Labour looked after the rich with low taxes right up until the last election when they cynically raised tax to 50p to annoy the Tories. Labour abolished the 10 per cent tax rate for lower earners forcing more than five million workers up into the 20% tax bracket. And Ed Miliband voted for the introduction of the “Bedroom Tax” as part of the Welfare Reform Act 2007. The “Bedroom Tax” was part of Labour’s plans as far back as 2001. The “Bedroom Tax” is every inch a Labour policy.

Labour expanded privatisation of the NHS through PPI and allowing private contractors to run the Hinchingbrooke hospital [completed when the Tories came into power]. And Brown hammered people with petrol tax rises under the flag of convenience of supporting green issues.

Don't tell me that Labour didn't look after the wealthy when Blair and Brown were in charge because they did.

I won't be voting this time as I can't stand any of them. But Labour is rotten to the core.

And who has been screwed by either party? The cash cows sitting in the middle on PAYE.
Cash free allowance has been scrapped for anybody on 100k or above (doctors, head teachers, etc fall into that category)
If you have Children and earn more than 50k your child benefit has been cancelled.
The higher tax bracket has not gone up in years bringing more and more working people into the higher tax bracket.

The 2 periods are not comparable. There is no period in history in which Labour have cut taxes for Millionaires during a Palriament which follows a Once in a Century Financial Crisis.

The 50p rate announced by Labour was for a 5 year Parliament. The 50p rate announced by Labour is for the next 5 year Parliament (only). They will ask top rate tax payers to accept this small burden for one term only. If there are people who cannot accept this there will be volunteers to drive them to the airport. I will volunteer. I will see them on to the plane with a short and On Topic 2 word message.

Proves my point doesn't it. With food banks and poverty the rich should pay more for more than five years. Good old Labour - they got us into this mess. A cynical ploy for votes whilst winking at the rich people that fund them to say it won't be around forever. Why shouldn't we have a more progressive tax system?

I have no idea what your point is.
Labour did not create the crisis.
The Labour Schools Minister, Ed Balls, did not bring down Lehman Bros.
    But if you insist......
If we have a financial crisis which starts in Athens, is triggered by events in Athens, and then spreads across the world, and then impacts on the Uk......Is it OK if I call it "George Osborne's Mess"??
After all......what the hell was he doing? Why was he not preparing for this??

The Labour Party.....New Labour...... are are a party of competitive tax rates. Their 13 years in office is ample proof of this. And that is why the 50p rate will be for one term only.
