Went to a KD Lang gig once, very intimidating audience.

The band was vamping while she introduced them ... "And this lovely man is ...."

Audience starts booing very loudly  - so she stopped everything and gave the sisters a lecture that men were ok, some actually nice and they shouldn't be so judgemental.

KD Lang is pretty damn cool in my book.

When I was on the festival circuit, we played a gig that was supporting animal rights, women's rights and tree hugging rights. The 'Green Room' was a caravan behind the stage - one per band. 

The bass player rang a taxi company to collect a load of McDonalds and KFC. Most of the band were stuffing their face with all this animal friendly food in the so called 'Green Room' whilst at the same time sharing a copy of Penthouse. The festival organisers walked in and threw a complete shit-fit. All the bass player could say was " take a dip in the bucket if you're hungry".

I never refuse a gig.

I even did a magic show in a church once. Right in front of the altar.

I dedicated the show to the greatest illusionist the world had ever known, then finished with a Water into Wine effect and ended with "See - it's easy. Anyone can do it!"

I haven't been invited back.

Played a charity gig last year. Was lots of fun and helped raise a few hundred quid for homeless shelters. Hopefully that prevented a guy from dying in the cold at night.

I hope so too and I hope if that guy did survive he didn't go on to kill some other poor homeless guy for his trainers.

The great thing about magic in a church is you don't actually have to do any proper tricks, you can just tell them about awesome tricks you did in the past and it they don't believe you, you can burn them at the stake.  Once you've burnt a couple the rest will buy into any old shit.
