I second the Peavey classic 30 combo. Cheap, great sounding and versatile little amp.

Laney VC30s inevitably get chucked into the ring and are both in plentiful supply and pretty cheap. I had the VC15 and it was nice enough. The 30 is loud but perfectly useable at home, I think.

    he said clean :-P

All flavours of Fender twin can be had for £500 and under.
But the Chiropractor bill will be at least a grand. ;)
but think about all the extra time at home playing your guitar
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

If you're going to get a Bandit, don't - get a Special. It's basically a Bandit with double the power and a beefier speaker. The difference in bottom-end thump is quite noticeable. I just got one (thanks to Alnico here) and it's possibly the first 1x12" solid-state amp I've ever heard which actually has enough.
