Band name thread of the day

Right, top contenders at the moment are:

Los Perros
Johnny Was
The Mockingbird Killers
The MK's
Smokin' Joe's*
Sultan Leroy**
The Cuckoo Flyers

or any slight variations thereof ( the bass player like band names with a The in front, that's his only contribution to the debate).Mentally hard to come up with something that hasn't been used in some way.

Any of them conjure up anything for you?  Other than old men playing covers who can't come up with a decent band name. 

Any of them would look good/ terrible on a pub chalk board?

Yes, and there are the Tequila Mockingbirds already( which is a much funnier name).

Careful you don't confuse "Smokin' Joes" with Smokey Joe's Blues Band (often referred to as Smokey Joe). It was run by a chap called Roger Lewis but I don't know if he's still doing it.

Pub chalkboards are a problem - band names that can be misspelled after being said down a phone line are a problem, band names that are too long are a problem.

I am starting to like Blame the Bass Player though.

I think any band name has to take into account how stupid it will look when the landlord misspells it in big letters on the blackboard.
