    Airbag.
Chaps, here's a couple of names for you: Google, and Wikipedia.

    @EricTheWeary, Toby Arse Trumpet.
Airbag was a poke at decker's old band name.

Cheers. the singer came up with Johnny Was  which is a Bob Marley song and an SLF song and a film title, although google is saying it is already a US punk band ( although unlikely to be found playing pubs in Dudley I suppose).

I'm not sure it's the sort of thing that should be celebrated tbh!

Oh, The MK's - short for Mockingbird Killers but also to be slightly enigmatic so any two initials that sound okay together ( like The JB's or The MG's).

Still can't believe Bertie hasn't heard of the Soup Dragons. They had a top ten single in 1990 ( which I never realised until looking them up just now was a Rolling Stones cover).

there's plenty of bands that have had a top ten single Ive never heard of, Im sure.   Especially after the late 70s when I lost interest in the charts................  :D

  • 'The Bass Player Insisted on The The - Not "The The" The Band, You Understand, But The "The" That Appears At The Beginning Of The Band Name'

The pub's gonna need a bigger blackboard.

    OR

The Blame The Bass Player For This Grammatic Tomfoolery
Pub chalkboards are a problem - band names that can be misspelled after being said down a phone line are a problem, band names that are too long are a problem.

Tell me about it, our name is spelled wrong more often than not. We've had such variations as:

    Prison Son
    Prison Sun
    Prion Sun
    Prion Song

    etc.

There's a Replacements song called 'Johnny's Gonna Die' which I'd always thought would make a cool band name.

Eric and the Dynamos is ace! Nice work!

Eric and the Dynamos would have been the name of a very famous band if not for a slightly deaf announcer...
I suppose it's technically still untaken.

After tonight's rehearsal maybe deciding a band name was premature. (:|
Still, I will carry on as I am sure there are venues out there crying out for bands mixing up blues and ska as well as punk versions of Johnny Cash songs...
