The tome arrived, many thanks. Been at work today and had a lovely informative and humorous read.

I'll let you know when I've had a limb off  ;)

I still struggle understanding wiring diagrams though, pisses me right off it does.  :(

  • Follow that chapter from the start. It is not perfect but it should give you some ideas. The diagrams are done as if you are looking at the bottom of the pots. Most of it is straightforward and can be worked out

Aye I know. I'm quite handy with wood. Give me a stock pile of wood and I'll build you a kitchen.

Give me wires, capacitors, pots and solder, and I'm 'tits'. Once I 'get it' I'll be fine. :)

    MrsTT keeps mentioning "new kitchen".

Immediately after she's said "we need a".

Nothing to it Boss. Once you learn to make a door (drawers and stuff are easy after that) yer flying.

It's also reasonably handy to have a local authority demolishing ancient housing at the time so's you can get loads of quality old timber for literally next to nothing.   :)

I think so, I have done a few. About that time I did one for Chris Moores that had been sanded down so much to get the old finish you couldn't put a backplate on it. Was that the one?

Actually I think it is, I know Chris, and I got it from his mate Bob Shearn. Talked to Chris recently.
