Turned up to tonight's gig without my pedals!

Anyone ever turned up to a gig without their pedal board? I feel naked yet strangely free!! Only real issue is tuner but have a budget non-pedal one... Set amp to a light drive and going to ride the volume / pickups on the guitar... Wish me luck!

You'll be fine. Punters, booze, talent = result.

I find myself using pedals less and less these days. I set the amp's gain where I can clean things up by rolling back the guitar's volume pretty much as you're saying.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

It will be good for you. A lot can be done with just the guitar volume..

I've gone back a tuner on too of the amp and that's it.

I'm using my hands to make the appropriate noises.

    I don't use pedals.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I'm coping well, not a bad rig to be 'stuck with' :)

Look on the bright side, it's better than turning up to your gig without a guitar!

    Hope it went well :-)

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago when I had left the foot switch from my evh at home so could switch in the fx loop.   I run it in 4cm so I had a huge pedal board used just to switch the very dry channels by midi.  At least I had a clean/dirty choice - I doubt the audience could tell any difference but I could.  Felt a lot better the next night when it was back to normal.

A drummer I played with once turned up without his sticks and stool....luckily there was a bamboo plant in the corner of the room and we had to fashion him some out of that! I shit you not. It was his last gig with us.

@jimmyguitar Nice rig, how do you find the Clubman?

It was a really good lesson. I coped fine, guitar sounded great straight to amp and I had more time to play and less time tap-dancing. This was a function gig with a huge variation in styles so usually I would need a compressor, OD and a bit of slap back delay but I didn't miss them. Sound guy said it sounded awesome so I may forget my pedals more often!

If you're doing those, the most vital thing is to know where the stage finishes.
