Go on then, one of you guys must be a wealth of knowledge about these guitars. I fancy a black LPC alot, and as luck would have it one came up for sale for what seems a decent deal for me.

For these reissues what I can find online they seem to be pretty popular with owners and have the fatter neck like I prefer so it could be a winner.

Ive got a 2001 '57 reissue LPC - its a phenomenally nice guitar. Got quite a middy sound to it (at least in comparison to to 70s custom I also have), but plays very nicely. Has a great big neck, a beautiful topcarve, and is pretty lightweight (about 9lbs I think). How much are they after for it?

Nice guitars. All mahogany construction (no maple cap like the standard) and a big neck. Can be a bit on the heavy side if that sort of thing worries you. Second-hand value was around £2k until recently when Gibson started charging R9 prices for Custom reissues due to their problems sourcing suitable ebony for the fingerboard. I'd peg the current second-hand price from a shop at somewhere between £2,500 and £3,000, depending on condition. Less for a private sale, naturally.

2.5k? nah, customs (at least last time I was looking) could be found similar to R7 money.

You obviously didn't read my post. Reissue Customs, when they come up, are now a little under £5,000 new. Just a few years ago they listed for around £3,000. This is bound to have an effect on second-hand prices.

That was a great price considering they're got a used R7 up for £300 more!

I have one and it is the nuts. Seriously great guitar although shockingly I paid just under £1300 for mine.

I only just looked at the link. I do think that's a good price by today's market.

They just mailed to say they've stuck my favourite strings on and set up for Eb with slack for transport. So far so good!

All of the 1957 Custom reissues from that year were Custom Shop guitars.
