    Gig bags are evil. The only sensible solution is a Hiscox hard case.

    I've already got an hard case - my two main guitars are flight-cased. I just need something easy to carry for rehearsals. R.

    Well, I picked up a Mono M80 Vertigo. Should arrive next week.

    Thanks for all the help,

    R.

    I can't believe no one has recommended PRS SE gig bags. They are great quality and can be had quite cheaply on eBay if you keep looking and are patient. I have two which I use for all rehearsals and gigs, to carry a Les Paul and a 339, and I've never had a problem.

    The Protec Contego cases are meant to be awesome and they're a lot cheaper than the mono.
    I got a Protec after seeing a the bass version my mate.  Seemed to be similar levels of protection to the mono but less fancy.  Had mine for two or three years now and highly recommend them

    @FelineGuitars, ;

    I just tried a vertigo with a LP and I find that the headstock almost touches the back of the case. Almost became definitely when I tried to press the neck to fully slot inside the headlock. That doesn't look ideal.
    Have you had a different experience with them and your LPs?
    Funny how my Suhr bag seems better for the LP, whilst the mono would be great for my Suhr strat.
    Not ditching the mono, it is great but not sure it's right for LPs..

    maybe depends on the neck angle of the LP
    A17 degree headstock may touch whilst a 15 degree one doesn't

    Thanks, I see.
    I'd assume one is "vintage'' correct and the other is modern Gibson USA spec one?
    If so, which one would be the 17deg. one?

    17 was the vintage and Gibson did reestablish that  on some models
    It is thought to have better tone as the strings seat harder over the nut
