I loved it. Tense, exciting, entertaining. Wow. I felt like a little kid watching Star Wars for the first time.

I was exactly the same as well, first time I've been gripped to a film/programme like that for ages. Don't give a shit about all the supposed plot holes and stuff everyone online is moaning about, it was great.

At least I'm not the only that thinks the military strategy was awkward.  I could't believe my eyes when the Dothraki rushed into the army of the undead.  From cinematic point of view it was a strong and scary scene to see how the fire swords disappear in the dark but it felt really stupid.

As a Total War (sometimes) player, the strategy was incompetent at best.

    Cavalry being used as pawns?
Artillery out in the front lines?
    Head-on attack?
    Tiny little trench / moat?

I can only imagine they'll send Arya in to try and kill Cersei by having her walk in the front door of the Red Keep.

FFS I plan to watch GOT ep 4 later this morning, just browsing the morning news headlines online and Google Entertainment had a story from The Independent with a massive fucking spoiler in the title, I couldn't avoid it.

Just started watching and the opening scene of Ep 4.

Jon Snow's speech was heartbreakingly powerful and emotional, don't tell the missus but I welled up.

Just finished Ep 4...no spoilers but in summary:

Venomous, seething, hatred so thick that it chokes you through the TV screen.

    Epic

why didn't Missandei grab Cersei, and jump, pulling her down too?
    and

why doesn't Dany do her air raids at night, rather than in daylight?
and why didn't she go round behind the pirate's fleet, and come up behind them?

    Both good points!

Daeneyrs isn't being portrayed as being particularly strategic in her battle plans, but more impulsive. The Scorpion defences on Greyjoy's fleet and the walls of King's Landing surprised me.
However, I think there will be restoration of balance in the next episode, does she have more Dragons that we haven't seen?

That was a proper GOT episode - proof that getting shot of the ice pixie promptly was a good idea

Good way to think about it, was all getting very cuddly, even clearly sent out a "Tormund and Sam have done enough, we can leave them here to survive the show"...

    Then BAM angry, angry Danaerys...
You are the dreamer, and the dream...

A slow projectile from a moving, rolling platform, hits a moving/wobbling target, not once, but thrice?

    And reloads in a second?

    They'll have walking skeletons next.
