Go on then, for the uneducated (on Telecasters that is!) what are the giveaway signs?
    Headstock shape is slightly off
    Crappy string trees
Wrong machineheads to go with 22-fret neck
Plain truss rod access hole (if it's an AVRI it should be at the other end, too!)
    Separate maple fingerboard
Neck shaping on the back behind the nut
Fingerboard dots are slightly too small and 12th fret dots too far apart
Wrong combination of 8-screw single-ply pickguard and neck pickup with mounting screws into the body not guard
    Pickguard screws are too large
    Wrong bridge with top-loaded strings
Wrong knobs - should be flat-topped and more roughly knurled

… at least, that I can see at a quick look over. There's probably more.

The headstock shape and decal placement look the most obviously wrong to me. The tuners don't look in a straight line, which speaks volumes about the guitar in general, and the especially the neck.

How would it look with a sock over the headstock I wonder?

It would look like a really shitty Tele copy with a sock over the headstock.

I thought it looked a wrong 'un with the truss rod hole but didn't get half of what the forum cognoscenti pointed out.

An educating experience to be sure.

The first three things I look at are the truss rod hole, the 12th fret dots and the neck heel.  These are usually the give-away sign for me.

    Don't call me Shirley!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.
