Consider there's already an amp if you want an electric and/pedals and whatever, which guitar would you take to a desert island?

Is it one you already own. One you would like to own. One you've lost or maybe a famous instrument?

Remember this isn't for gigging, it's just for you to listen to and play chilling out with a fridge full of Fosters and no hope of rescue
Could i take a small hit on the value of the guitar if i take decent beer instead of Fosters?

Fuck the guitar, I'd just top myself if I had to drink Fosters for the rest of my days.
Guess I could always drink my own piss... would probably taste better.

My Strat style partscaster, except with a proper wood body instead of plywood - if only because the plywood is so heavy.

Or a 6/12 string double neck.

when on this island with your guitar...

would it be considered major kudos if you got noise complaints from the next island?

play every note as if it were your first

Not really. You need a complaint from the next planet...

The Martin 00028EC that the missus gave me on our 25th wedding anniversary. I think an acoustic would be better for desert island noodling, even though I hardly play anything but electrics these days.

I pointblank refuse to drink Foster's.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Last year it would have been my EBMM Axis easily.
Now it's the Guthrie Charvel. Haven't put it down for the 3 months I have had it. Does everything! Looks great, has a Charvel neck and that's good in anyone's book, has a lovely trem and varied pickup sounds. Oh, and it smells amazing (no really!)...I'll be sad when that fades.

If you like Fosters you'll be telling us next that you'd take a Paisley Tele.
Says a man who has clearly never played my dad's 80s MIJ pink paisley Tele, quite simply the best Tele ever made.

    Fosters is piss though.

Honestly? Any guitar that was available. If I haven't played for a few days and I end up somewhere, where there may be a guitar, I pick it up and play the life out of it whatever it is...

But if you're forcing me to choose, I'd say a Junior.

If I could only take an acoustic it would have to be a 12 string.

Electric would be My Mex '69 Tele Thinline. I'm back in love with it. It's the neck - a lovely U shape.

But I guess on a desert island I would agree it would have to be an acoustic.
