To assume only makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me". Just a few more hours.
    Aaaargh!!! ;)

So the HXFX is getting all the m-series effects, I’m assuming Helix won’t be. There’s going to be a few cross Helixers
Why, exactly, would you assume that?
Because DI asked which two of the M Series filters we would want most in Helix. Doesn’t seem to be much point in asking if we were getting all of them
    DI also said:

OK so now we know there is a HX Effects unit on the way, how does the impending Helix 2.50 update tie in with this in mind?

Is it a predominantly effects based update to give a fresh set of models to the effects section and kick start the launch of new HX Effects only unit? Or could the new HX Effects have some unique effects that are not in the Helix? or the other way around? which would be controversial...

The goal will be to add the same effects models to all Helix/HX products simultaneously.

how so? Seems perfectly logical and absolutely not controversial... now if he'd said, Helix FX will get it's own FX not included in Helix and Native, THAT would be controversial.

controversial in the sense that although many people would welcome all of the M series effects, some may see it as a step backwards not having shiny new HX ones

Sometimes vintage effects (even digital) are very highly regarded, eg the older DL4 etc!

And, I would venture, pretty daft, given that L6 have said that they've put considerable effort into making sure the architecture is consistent so that Native and Helix and Helix LT and Helix Rack can all have the same upgrades at the same time. It seems unlikely that Helix FX would not use exactly the same underlying architecture (even if the number of DSPs or connectors differs a bit).

    unless the answer is
"good news you are getting all of them"

That’s the sort of thing I do to my kids at Christmas

That's how DI sees us :)

ha, yeah I suppose there are always people who find some thing to moan about:
Punter: I miss M series FX
Line 6 Free FX from the M series
Punter: Boo it's from the M series

    Improvements/Changes

    • If a Snapshot has been given a custom switch color, that switch ring now displays a dim color when not active
    • 12 of Helix’s 17 reverbs originally appeared in M-Class processors and Verbzilla. As such, they’ve been moved into the new “Legacy” subcategory within the Reverb category
    • Helix's tempo no longer responds to pressing TAP at tempi lower than 40.0 BPM (Beats Per Minute). This is to ensure that multiple fast tap entries are recognized properly, as previously, they could be seen as one really slow tap entry. You may still manually select a tempo all the way down to 20.0 BPM and your presets can still be saved with tempi down to 20.0 BPM—just touch TAP and turn Knob 6 (BPM)
    Red ones are better.

Well after the news that the HXFX is not for me that's cheered me up - Fantastic update!!  And it won't cost me a penny :)  If line 6 would just make me a mini Helix for backup/small gigs they could have some more money from me

    Oooh.

Lots to like there - stand outs for me are the pattern tremolo, barber pole phaser and dimension, but plenty more.

    Aces.

That’s a very good update.  I missed a few effects from my old M5, really nice to get them all back.  Looking forward to trying the new reverbs.   Line 6 seem to be turning into the opposite of Apple, constantly giving to their customers rather than taking away.
