    If I was getting a new Gibson now, the Memphis ES line is much better value,

    I honestly couldn't part with that sort of cash for a guitar, I just couldn't. But then I'm happiest playing mexi strats

    Brand new 2014 Gibson Custom Les Paul 1958 VOS Reissue in various colours for £2450 from Ginos Guitars in Italy. In other words, half of what Gibson would prefer you to pay :)

    regarding the LPs from Italy, Ginos...great store BTW ^......am I right in thinking what you see is what you pay? no tax extras when shipped....any other stores like this in Europe with good prices and a LARGE selection of '58s?

    @hootsmon
    Iirc there is no tax due as they are part of the Euro zone.

    Me. Not that I'd be in a position to pay that for a guitar without the Mrs going stratospheric. But I would, yes. That's what they is for.

    You'd drive your 15 Grand Vauxhall down the pub and leave it out in the car park all night.

    I wouldn't buy a Vauxhall ne'er mind spunk £15k on one, I've learned something from Phil!

    But yep, I'd leave me Toyota there. And have done  :)

    I seem to be in a Fender phase at the moment... which is probably just as well really.

    I'm pretty happy with the Gibsons I already have and wouldn't buy new at these increased prices.

    That is the opposite of everything a tele should be. I wouldn't pay four hundred for it (unless I bought it to flip to some idiot for £k's!).

    I think this 2015 pricing is a very interesting idea.

    If I can find find a new car with prevous generation plastics on the dashboard for two thirds of the price.....I might be interested.

    If I had to spend that kind of money on a new Tele I'd get a master built blackguard.
