Oh f*ck off !  I didn't know him, you didn't know him.  There will be jokes about him doing the rounds within 48h.  People we don't know die every second, but you can't, and don't go around demanding "some respect" for them can you ?  People who had terribly sad lives and died alone and in poverty probably deserve a little more 'respect' than a multi-millionaire musician who drink-and-drugged himself to a possibly slightly earlier grave.  As Hunter S Thompson said...  “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” 

Respect ?  Yeah.. he gets my respect for doing it right... not for dying.
