By proper I mean, not from an all in one kit. I will be putting it together using separate parts.
I won a body on ebay from booboo guitars. It's a two piece swamp ash strat style body.
http://1drv.ms/1iqw1PChttp://1drv.ms/1Ob09v1Originally I was going to go for the wudtone black magic woman, on seeing the grain in person I will be going with a wudtone amber.
Neck will be from gsp basses and I have purchased a bladerunner v bridge from here. I'm unsure what to do regarding the rest of the hardware so any tips are welcome!
I'm looking for half decent hardware and pickups that won't break the bank!

2TSB written all over it (I know, but I like a burst).
I think it's best for everyone's sake that I stick to a one colour finish!
Look for 2nd hand sorry , pre-loved pickups for bargains , and put all screws in by hand , don`t be tempted to use a powered screwdriver.
If a screw gets too tight when you are putting it in , back it out and drill the hole a bit more , if the head goes , you are in for some major headaches.
Good Luck , I enjoyed my first so much , I`m itching to do another one.
I have just put the first coat of amber wudtone on and it looks really good! Will update with pics in the morning!

I'm completely stuck as to what colour of pickguard to go for! So I'm open to any suggestions.

That second image is red isn't it? Haha!
Any ideas where to get custom water slide decals from?
@SimonRF is your man, I had some custom made Westone decals made there and they're beautiful.

Mine will have chrome hardware so I'm not sure how well it will go?
This is gorgeous, but the pikey gold ruins it imo, chrome or nickel would nail the look.

Well, the colour scheme is decided and its a kind of mix between all of the above (not sure how it will look).
I have gone for a 1 ply black pickguard with cream knobs and PU covers. Let me know your thoughts!
I've also took a punt on some of these :- http://www.axesrus.co.uk/Axesrus-Schaller-Style-Machine-Heads-Rear-Disc-L-p/jn-07cr.htm
Hopefully they are actually as good as the reviews say.
Question is, what do I call it?
The neck has is a classic large headstock design.
My name is shaun fretwell and I plan to give the guitar to my son Jude when he is old enough to start playing a full size guitar. He's currently 10 months old so it's a good way off yet!
So from that little bit of info, can anyone come up with a good name / brand / nickname t for this build that would look good on the headstock?
